About Canada - Our Seasons

"Experiences All Year Round"

To learn more about our year-round Canadian experiences, please select a season:

Summer
Spring
Autumn
Winter

Canada has four distinct seasons. Each season offers a variety of activities and has its own charm and appeal. Canada's tourism high-season usually starts in late May and ends at the beginning of October, with some slight regional variations. Canadian Tours International offers highly competitive rates throughout the year; but if your time of travel is flexible, you can take advantage of lower rates during the off (or shoulder) seasons.

Summer

Summer takes place from mid-June until the middle of September. Canada gets quite hot during the Summer, and the many lakes and rivers offer water activities in abundance. You can enjoy Canada by experiencing the lush rainforests of British Columbia, or relaxing on the quaint beaches of Prince Edward Island.

Summer is the perfect time to experience Canada's unique Native Culture. Aboriginal vacation experiences can include cultural events and entertainment such as Pow-Wows, Festivals and Pageants; as well as Nature Tours, Historical and Archaeological points of interest, Spiritual/Learning experiences, stays at Aboriginal Resorts, and visits to traditional First Nations restaurants.

Activities available (and recommended) during the Summer are:

  • Swimming
  • Boating
  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • Sailing
  • White-water Rafting
  • Whale Watching
  • Fishing
  • Jet-Boating

Winter

Winter is a great time of the year if you like activities in the Snow, or enjoy shopping and entertainment. Prices are lower, and Canadian cities offer the traveler a completely different perspective. Pre-Christmas shopping, in combination with the partially frozen Niagara Falls; a romantic ski trip to the Rockies; and dog-sledding up North; or a hot-tub and sauna at a rustic Resort, are a great way to ‘cure’ the "Winter Blues".

Activities available and recommended during winter are:

  • Nordic and Alpine Skiing
  • Heli-Skiing
  • Snow-boarding
  • Snowmobiling
  • Ice Fishing
  • Snow shoeing
  • Tobogganing
  • Ice Skating
  • Dog-sledding
